At the mouth of the Kymi River on the Lankila branch, are the Metsola Docks and Beach. The docks are used for people’s private ships and are not large enough for commercial use. The beach is a small sandy area surrounded by rocky and forested areas at land. A large amount of reeds are in the water close to the docks. I went to take some picture, but raine forced me to end the trip early. I did get some nice pictures from near the docks.

The forested area to north of the docks is a Langinkoski Nature Reserve. In addition to the Kymi River, this area contains the Imperial Fishing House of the Russian Tsar Alexander III, old WW2 era fortifications, and an area of rare trees. The nature reserve ends at the docks.

A large amount of reeds grow at the nature reserve and at the docks. The Kymi River is not very deep here, and some reeds grow at shallow areas in the middle of the river. Rocks also appear above the surface.

Unfortunately, the rain became so bad that I had to leave quickly and I did not get any pictures of boats, the beach, or some of the nice looking buildings at the southern part of Metsola. I did get this one photo of the building near the docks.
