Two Rapids

The rapids of Siikakoski and Koivukoski are both located nearby at the Kymi River. The two rapids are very different, since Siikakoski has a small nature trail and beaches nearby and Koivukoski has a power station and a large dam.

At the Siikakoski Rapid, the Kymi River travels between a few small islands and a shallow area. Right after and before the rapid, there are beaches for swimmers and some docks for fishers. The nature trail takes you to along the coast the river.

The power station at Koivukoski is located at the end of a small branch of the Kymi River that goes around a large island on the river. The dam is at the other side of the island where the river is wider.
