Winter Park I, Saari Folkpark

The Saari Folkpark is a small natural park located in Tammela, Southern Finland. The park is located in between two lakes and also contains some smaller lakes in it. A path goes partially along the coast of the lakes and partially in the forest of the park. This early in the winter, I could still easily walk in the park, but that will probably become difficult once more snow falls. There is a large observation tower in the park, but it is closed during winter.

I visited Tammela and decided to also visit this park and take some pictures there. I had very limited time, since I was there to help someone with moving there and I had to be back in another city in the evening. This was because the loan for a trailer we used would expire soon. Because of all of this, I decided to head to Tammela before the sun rose, so I had a few hours to visit some place before the people who where moving there would arrive. I decided that this Folkpark was the closest interesting thing there which I had time to visit. I still did not have time to visit every place in the park.

I only took my film camera there, since I didn’t have time to use two cameras. I had a partially used Kodak Tri-X 400 film roll already in my camera, so I also took an extra Ektar 100 roll incase I ran out of film. That was a good idea since I did ran out. So here are some slightly rushed images from this park. In this part are the some images shot with Tri-X 400, in second part I will have some images shot with Ektar 100.

During summer, there are beaches for swimmers near the coast and also some Lent-to (also called Laavu) buildings and fireplaces for campers.
