The Sipoonkorpi national park is a large park consisting of mostly forests along with some small lakes and hills. It is located just to the east of Helsinki. In winter, some of the paths in the park are ski trails. There are still some paths that are available for just walking. In the south, where I went, is a path to the lake Storträsk and to the hill Högberget, which are both accessible in winter.
I took a bunch of pictures from the forest but also from the Storträsk lake and the Högberget hill. Since I now have a larger backpack, I took both a digital camera and a film camera with me along with a tripod and other equipment. Because I now had a tripod, I decided to try some very low-sensitivity film. All the colour pictures here are taken with a digital camera and all black-and-white pictures are taken with Ilford Pan F Plus film with an ISO of 50.

The Störträsk lake was frozen and the coast was covered in snow. Because the sun was shining from directly the other side of the lake, the contrast was high and I could only take pictures of the coast on my side.

Högberget is a small hill in southern Sipoonkorpi. The top has some small cliffs and boulder but is mostly very flat and covered with trees. The visibility from the hill is blocked by trees expect to the east towards the city of Vantaa. When I arrived there, the sun was just shining directly from east. In a normal picture from there, the ground would be just black if the sky was visible at all. I attempted to take a picture looking towards Vantaa from the hill and using the HDR setting on my camera, I did manage to take a picture where you can see the factories in Vantaa and (and/or maybe Helsinki) on the horizon with the sun shining directly towards the camera. I think it looks pretty disgusting but it’s also kind of cool that you can do that.
