The cliffs of Luotolahdenvuori hill are steep rock walls on the coast of a strait that are 45 meters high at some points. They are located in Orrai, just to the west of Saimaa lake, along the strait between Kuolimo lake and Luotolahdensalmi bay. A nature trail in Orrai leads through forests to the cliffs and ponds of the area. The length of the trail is about 10 km. I visited the are to take photographs from the hills during winter. The path did not seem popular in winter, since only faded footsteps were in the snow. Because the path had little use in winter, it was covered in thick snow and was difficult to walk through.

I had waited for good weather for photography before going to the trail. Unfortunately, the weather report seems to have been inaccurate, since a uniform cloud layer covered the skies. I decided to still see if I could take some good pictures from the area. Most of the good pictures I took were with my film camera using black-and-white film, since the weather made everything look kind of grey and colourless. I did still take a few colour pictures with a digital camera.
