The island of Mussalo in the city of Kotka is home to a large port but also to a resort at the beach of Santalahti. Near the resort is the Santalahti nature trail, which leads to the rocky coasts of Mussalo and to the forest near the resort. I tried to ride a bike to the beginning of the nature trail to take some pictures. During the trip I accidently snapped the key of my bike lock in half and I had to try coming back another day. During the next evening I went to the nature trail and took pictures of the colorful skies during sunset at the coast.
Here is one image from my first trip. After breaking my lock, I decided to just ride around the island before returning home.

Now pictures from the second trip. I used a film camera for all the black-and-white pictures and a digital camera for all color pictures.

I hoped to see some swans right near the coast as I had seen them last year during the same time. Unfortunately, this one was a bit far away.

When the sun went down, the colors of the sky changed to blue on one side and purple on the other side where the sun had set.

A few more images from the trail. First a more abstract image of a tree stump that kind of looks like broken glass. The last image was taken after the sun had set. By that time, it had became so dark that my light meter on the camera stopped working and I had to guess the exposure.
