I took some pictures from a hill near the Pyhäjärvi lake and from the nearby Lamminpolku nature trail during a cloudy winter day. Pyhäjärvi lake is located on the border between two municipalities in southern Finland near the town of Artjärvi. Lamminpolku nature trail nearby goes to small hills to the east of Artjärvi. The color pictures here are taken with a digital camera and the black-and-white pictures are taken with film.

I first arrived on the coast of Pyhäjärvi lake. There are summer cottages and a beach here, but they look empty during the winter.

Before I got to the beginning of the trail that would lead to the hills, I passed by some fields.

The beginning of the trail was marked, but there was no trail visible in the snow. I decided to just walk through the snow up the hill until I got to a open area from which the lake was visible. There was a very nice view but the strong wind made the open area very cold.

After visiting the hill near Pyhäjärvi lake, I headed towards the Lamminpolku nature trail. On the way I desided to see a few places in the Artjärvi town. Here are pictures of the Artjärvi church and the coast of Pyhäjärvi lake from the other side from the hill I was at.

The nature trail actually had a visible trail in the snow, so I started following it. The trail went from a forest to some smaller hills. A few farms near Artjärvi town were visible from them.
