Near the city of Varkaus, there is a nature trail on the Joenmäenvuori hill that goes to the top of the hill and back down on another side. This winter I went there during evening and took some pictures during the trip. Here are some of the pictures I took. The color pictures were taken with a digital camera and the black-and-white pictures were taken with film.

There was no parking places on the bottom of the hill during winter, so I left my car on a wide part of a side road and started walking from there. There was some kind of a path that still existed in the snow. During one part of the trail, there was a secondary path to a cave. That path was fully covered in snow so I just continued up the hill on the original path.

The view from the hill was mostly blocked by trees.

At the top of the hill, there was a small church.

As the sun was going down, I looked for a good place to take a picture of the sunset. Unfortunately, there was no more path, so I walked through the snow to some large boulders from which I could see some of the landscape behind the trees.
