During this winter, I visited the Etelä-Konnevesi national park in central Finland. There is a 19 km long path through the whole park, but I only went through a shorter 5 km path. I went there in the evening and was expecting to at least get some nice pictures of sunset from the top of a large hill in the park, but it turned out that there were very thick clouds and the sun was not visible at all.
Because of the weather, everything looked very grey and dull. I will definitely have to come back here during summer to see what the place looks like when there’s more color and less clouds. Here are some of the pictures I took during this trip. The color images are taken with a digital camera and the black-and-white images were taken with a film camera.
The path I took went around the Vuori-Kalaja lake and up the Kalajanvuori hill. The lake is quite small and the cliffs of the Kalajanvuori hill can be seen from across the lake.

There was an old house that was built by someone who lived in this forest alone from the 1970s.

The Kalajanvuori hill is 211 meters above the sea but only 77 meters above the Vuori-Kalaja lake below. The clouds looked like they were almost touching the hill when I was up there. Parts of the larger Konnevesi lake are visible in the last picture in the distance.
