Haikkaanlahti is a rural area to the north of the city of Lappeenranta in Finland. It is actually a large island on the Saimaa Lake. There is a hiking trail going through the rural roads and forests in the area. The trail is split into two parts by a large road going through Haikkaanlahti. I walked through the southern half of the trail and took the following pictures on the way.
The path varies between small dirt roads and forest trails.

There are not any impressive sights along the path, but the rural scenes can have a comfy feeling.

Also various plants can be found along the path.

A small part of the path goes along the coast of the large Saimaa Lake.

The highlight of the trail are the farms at Innalanmäki hill, where they have highland cattle on the fields.
