Around the Vaajavirta River near the city of Jyväskylä in Central Finland is a path going from a small island with old buildings to the hills near the coast of the river. I took the following pictures while walking through the path during this winter. On the island, there are pretty old wooden houses and from the path there is a nice view of the wide river and the hills around it. The city is visible from the top of the hill, but it is very difficult to walk up there during winter due to ice.
Naissaari Island is a small island on the Vaajavirta River with old wooden houses and an old hydroelectric power plant. The island is accessible by bridges and by walking across the canal at the power plant.

A path close to the coast of the Vaajavirta River goes across the river and to the Kanavuori Hills via a railway bridge. There is a nice view of the river from a trail that separates from the main path and goes all the way to the coast.

On the Kanavuori Hills, there are cottages and houses near the coast and a nature trail going up to the hills. There are a few places on the hills from where you can see the city of Jyväskylä to the west. I would not recommend going through the trail during winter, as it was extremly slippery and dangerous due to ice.
