Winter Sunrise from a Hill at Päijänne Lake

The Oravivuori Hill is a small hill near the coast of the Päijänne Lake in Central Finland. The hill used to be part of the Struve Geodetic Arc, which was used to measure the shape of the Earth before satellites. Today there is a short nature trail going through the forest at the hill to the Päijänne Lake. I took the following pictures from a walk through the trail during a winter morning.

After a short walk through the forest, I got to the top of the Oravivuori Hill where there is an observation tower with a nice view of the Päijänne Lake.

From the hill the trail went to the coast of the Päijänne Lake, which was covered in ice that you could walk over.
